Transfer: Arsenal forward tells Arteta about intention to depart

Reiss Nelson, an Arsenal forward, has communicated with the Premier League team his desire to depart this summer.

The 24-year-old wants to weigh his alternatives in preparation for a potential summer transfer, according to The Athletic.

Nelson, who joined the Gunners in 2018 and has made 89 appearances, is reportedly being pursued by at least four Premier League teams.

Nelson merely re-signed a contract in July of last year, extending his Arsenal tenure through the summer of 2027.

It’s thought that in January, Mikel Arteta declined to approve any departure.

However, after playing hardly at all under Arteta last season, the player now wishes to go. Nelson only made one Premier League start the previous season.
