Emmanuel, a Linguistics student in his third year at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), met an untimely end when he was shot by unknown assailants while residing at a private hostel within the vicinity.
It is still uncertain what prompted the attack.
The Vice Chairman of the National Association of Universities Students (NAUS) Ondo Campus Monitoring Committee, Comrade Oladele Emmanuel, urged security officials and university authorities to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the incident and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.

Stating the community’s sorrow and advocating for heightened security measures, he spoke out, “The details surrounding this heartbreaking event are still uncertain. As a result, we’re all left with questions and an overwhelming sense of mourning.
We heartily implore the AAUA administration, state authorities, and law enforcement officials to thoroughly investigate what happened.”
The university community was encouraged by the Vice Chairman to stay watchful and inform authorities of any valuable information that could aid in the inquiry. Moreover, he emphasized the need for strengthened security protocols across campus premises like intensified patrols, improved illumination as well as readily available emergency services.
According to Oladele Emmanuel, the passing of Emmanuel is a significant loss not only for his loved ones but also for the entire AAUA community. The contributions and potential he had in our academic environment were invaluable and cannot be replaced. We deeply mourn his sudden departure and offer sincere condolences to his family during this challenging period.
