Tragic Discovery: 21-Year-Old Student Found in Refuse Dump

A 21-year-old female student has been found dead in a refuse dump. Learn more about this shocking discovery and the ongoing investigation.

Authorities suspect that Mojisola Awesu, a 21-year-old student from Kwara State College of Health Technology in Offa, was brutally murdered in Ilorin – the capital city of Kwara State. Her death is believed to be connected with ritual killings.

Since August 9, 2024, Mojisola had been reported missing. However on August 12th, her body was found at a dump site located in the Aleniboro locality of Ilorin by Mr. Olorunoje – who stumbled upon it while returning from his early morning mosque prayers and immediately alerted others after discovering the bleak remains around roughly 7:30 am that day.

According to reports, Mojisola was contacted by Timileyin on August 9th regarding an event being planned by students from Summit University in Offa and Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin. Through the introduction made by Timilehin, Adebayo Happiness – a Summit University student- requested her presence at a night party and offered N15,000 for pretending as his girlfriend during the vent.

Reportedly, Mojisola informed her roommate, Blessing that she was uncomfortable at the hotel to which Adebayo had conveyed her. This feeling arose when it became clear there would be no party as previously promised. Eventually, after conveying this information to Blessing and turning off her phone shortly afterwardall attempts by Blessedto reach Mojisolawere unsuccessful.

Mojisola’s body has been recovered, as confirmed by the Kwara State Police Command. In relation to this case, several suspects have been arrested and are currently being investigated further by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), according to police spokesperson Toun Ejire-Adeyemi.

The safety of students and the escalating cases of ritual killings in the area have been brought into question due to this heartbreaking incident. The community is reeling from shockwaves, prompting authorities to urge vigilance among citizens and encourage them to promptly report any dubious behaviors or activities directly to law enforcement agencies.
