Tragic accident: Train kills man on Lagos railway track
A train has tragically killed a man on a railway track in Lagos. Learn more about the incident and ongoing investigations.
On Monday, it was reported by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) that a man had been hit and killed by a train while on the railway track.
In Lagos, it was announced by Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, who is the Permanent Secretary of the agency.
According to Oke-Osanyintolu, at approximately 18:00 hrs, the agency reacted to an emergency report concerning a train mishap along the railway line facing Cappa in Lagos.

Upon reaching the location of the event, he stated that they came across an adult male who had been struck by a train and was walking along the rail track.
He stated that additional inquiries uncovered the fact that an adult male who was not yet identified and partially clothed died instantly on the railway track as a result of being hit by the train.
“The agency’s response team has bagged the remains of the adult male and is now awaiting the arrival of officials from State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit. The body will then be transported to the morgue,” he stated.
