In a heartbreaking incident, a 17-year-old boy was electrocuted while working alongside his step-father in Lagos, leading to calls for better safety measures.

According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer for Command, on August 2 at approximately 1:00 p.m., a mother reported the case to Agbado Police Division.

Hundeyin reported that the mother was notified of the occurrence through a phone call made by her younger brother. He informed her that her son had gone with his step-father, who worked as a welder, to assist in constructing scaffolds at the Church Street construction site located in Alagbado.

The woman reported that her son accompanied her husband, a welder by trade and his stepfather, to construct scaffolding at Church Street in Alagbado as relayed by her brother.

According to Hundeyin, the boy tragically lost his life after inadvertently stepping on a live wire that had been carelessly connected from an electric pole while he was working.
