Tragedy in Anambra: Scores Feared Dead After Market Crash

Anambra market hit by tragedy as a vehicle crashes into the area, with numerous lives feared lost and others injured in the chaotic aftermath.

On Wednesday, a sorrowful incident took place at the Oye Agu Market in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State. Many individuals are apprehensive that numerous people lost their lives.

According to reports, a speeding vehicle lost its grip and collided into the bustling marketplace, resulting in complete devastation.

While there is no clear information available about the entire incident, witnesses stated that several lives were likely lost due to the impact of the crash damaging goods.

On social media, a video is being shared which depicts the aftermath of an accident involving a Sienna vehicle. The debris from the wreckage can be seen alongside some of the merchants who were unfortunately crushed in this tragic incident.

The roadside traders’ market, famous for selling food items was left in a state of chaos with shattered tomatoes and other products scattered all over the street.

According to Engr. Ben Okongwu, the President-General of Abagana community, the crash has been confirmed and it resulted in three fatalities due to driver’s loss of control over their vehicle.

The spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State, RC Margaret Onabe, stated that she had not yet been informed about the accident.

The tragic incident that has left the community grieving, and many in a state of shock, has also prompted demands for better road safety precautions within the vicinity.
