Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has given her reasons for leaving the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the governing All Progressive Congress (APC).
She went on to say that she had made the decision to set aside her emotions in order to work towards improving Nigeria.
On Monday, October 23, at the party’s national office in Abuja, Tonto Dikeh, the running mate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for governor of Rivers State in the 2023 election, was disclosed as an APC member.

On Tuesday, October 24, the actress formally declared her intention to attend the party and provided her rationale in a post on her Instagram page.
“Arguments usually come to an end when facts are accompanied by evidence, which drives drastic decisions and changes for the common good,” the author said.
I have made the decision to set aside my feelings and carry on working for the betterment of Nigerian women, youth, and the nation as a whole, as I have always done through the Committee of Youth on Mobilisation and Sensitization (CYMS) platform in collaboration with the Federal Government. This is after being presented with the facts, objectives, and vision of the current renewed hope agenda.
“I am passionate about the advancement of my country, Nigeria, and the youth of this wonderful nation overall. I have learned over the years that visionary leaders providing selfless service to humanity are the source of impactful leadership.”
“This is a victory for our aspirations, hopes, and battles to make sure we leave positive legacies for the next generation, not just for me.
“I am resolute in my support of you Nigerians, and you will eventually sense the benefits of my choice, as it will be apparent in all of us.
“As a patriotic Nigerian, a progressive youth, and an advocate of girl-child, I want to reiterate that i believe in the prosperity of Nigeria under the RENEWED HOPE AGENDA OF President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR,” the woman added, expressing her aspirations for the Tinubu administration.
