President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the youth of Nigeria has the unflinching dedication of Dr. Jamila Ibrahim, the designate minister of youth.

Ibrahim stressed the need of youth participation in governmental decision-making when speaking to press on Wednesday following her screening at the Senate in Abuja.

“By designating me as the Minister of Youth, the President has clearly heard the voice of the young.

“We fought for inclusion in government and a seat at the table of decision-making during the general elections.

She added, “The President has granted our desire through my nomination as a minister and Minister of State for Youth, together with other young cabinet members.

Ibrahim pointed out that the appointment to the cabinet was only the beginning and that additional young people would soon take on leadership positions as the heads of various government ministries and agencies.

Ibrahim emphasised the need for a thorough assessment of youth issues in order to effectively involve young people in the decision-making process.

“Young people must be involved in the planning process if we want to prepare for the future,” she said. This all-encompassing strategy aims to include more young people in determining the course of the future.

In response to questions regarding her capacity for successful leadership among the youth, Ibrahim stated: “Leadership is a lifestyle, not just a function or task.
