Tinubu’s New Year broadcast criticized for lacking empathy – LP
President Bola Tinubu’s New Year’s message to Nigerians, as criticized by the Labour Party (LP), lacked compassion, according to the party. In his countrywide broadcast, Tinubu urged Nigerians to remain resilient in the face of challenges.
However, the LP argues that the speech reflects the hypocrisy, deceit, and lack of empathy that they believe characterizes the All Progressives Congress administration led by Tinubu.
The LP highlights the president’s failure to address critical issues such as insecurity, deteriorating infrastructure, economic inflation, and the alleged looting of the nation’s resources.
They also question the decision to remove fuel subsidies without a plan to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians and the misuse of foreign reserves for attending the climate change summit in Dubai. The LP emphasizes the need to repair democratic institutions and calls on the National Assembly to uphold the constitution beyond party lines.
