As the vice chairman of the State Executive Council, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the deputy governor of Ondo State, is now in charge of the meeting.
The executive meeting is the result of months of political squabbling between Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s supporters and the deputy governor.

The conflicting factions were called to a conference by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu last Friday in Abuja, when it was decided that the deputy governor should carry out his duties in that capacity.
The fact that the exco meeting is taking place right now suggests that the state’s political impasse might be ending.
As at the time this report was filed, the meeting’s exact agenda was unknown.
