Betta Edu was suspended yesterday and today, she is currently at the EFCC, responding to inquiries. Let’s confront the truth, Nigeria is undergoing positive changes. While I may have a few reservations about President Bola Tinubu, I cannot ignore his commendable acts of leadership. He began well and continues to demonstrate his commitment. However, the primary obstacle our country faces is not the government itself, but rather the people. We are not prepared to actively participate in the change we so strongly desire.
Consider Peter Obi as an example. He has been the most vocal in criticizing the alleged financial misconduct of the minister and questioning President Tinubu’s decisions. Yet, this same individual received substantial donations from Nigerians for his campaign, yet has failed to provide an account of how he utilized those funds even ten months after the election. Furthermore, just last week, we witnessed him, who claimed not to fly in private jets, disembarking from one!
He condemns the Federal Government for any killings that occur outside the Southeast region. However, if such incidents take place in Igboland, like the recent Porsche night club killings or the tragic incidents involving Chinedu and Omama in Onitsha, Peter Obi remains silent and unresponsive. Yet, if a similar event were to happen in Kano, Ibadan, Sokoto, or Lagos, suddenly the blind man regains his sight. Miracles never cease to amaze…!
