Tinubu’s Ally Says Seeing Amaechi, Fayemi, Aregbesola, Kwankwaso in Atiku’s Camp Makes Him Want to Vomit
A close ally of President Tinubu expresses disgust over the presence of Amaechi, Fayemi, Aregbesola, and Kwankwaso in Atiku’s political camp, highlighting tensions within Nigeria’s political landscape.
Joe Igbokwe, a notable figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a close associate of President Bola Tinubu, has voiced significant dissatisfaction regarding reports that numerous former governors might be aligning themselves with ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar in anticipation of the 2027 presidential election.
There is increasing speculation that former governors Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State may join forces with Atiku, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
In response to the reports, Igbokwe, a former spokesperson for the APC in Lagos State, expressed his frustration on Facebook on Saturday. He called upon the political figures involved to rejoin the ruling party and noted that their potential alliance with Atiku was profoundly unsettling.
His post stated: “Good morning to everyone, particularly our dedicated APC supporters throughout Nigeria. I wish for HE Amaechi, HE Fayemi, HE Aregbesola, and HE Kwankwaso among others to return to the APC. Their presence in Atiku’s camp is quite unsettling.”
