Lt. Col. Nurudeen Yusuf, Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to President Bola Tinubu, is set to officially assume the role of the next Elemona of Ilemona in Kwara State’s Oyun Local Government Area this coming Saturday.
The decision was made by the kingmakers and has been endorsed by the Kwara State government, following the passing of his late father, Oba Yusuf Omokanye Oyekanmi, in May at the age of 95, as reported by Daily Trust.
Abdullahi Bata, Kwara State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, confirmed the acceptance of the appointment by Lt. Col. Yusuf on Saturday morning.
A former member of the Oyun State House of Assembly, who chose to remain anonymous, also supported this information, adding that the new monarch plans to appoint a regent to oversee the throne temporarily until his retirement from military service.
The former legislator remarked that, given his security background and extensive education, he is anticipated to utilize his skills for the betterment of his community.

Following the completion of his Ordinary National Diploma in Computer Science from Offa Polytechnic in 2000, Yusuf furthered his studies at the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna, earning a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical-Electronics).
