The Senate Leader, Micheal Opeyemi Bamidele, has stated that the Senate will receive the long-awaited cabinet list within the next 48 hours.

He made the announcement in Abuja during his 60th birthday anniversary lecture and book presentation.

President Bola Tinubu personally told Bamidele of this development during a phone conversation to wish him well on his birthday, according to Bamidele.

President Tinubu, he said, informed him that he would be unable to attend the birthday speech due to a crucial communication that he needed to submit to the Senate within the next 48 hours.

The ministerial list, including the individuals nominated for ministerial seats in the government, is expected to be included in this letter.

Prof. Toyin Ogundipe, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, called on political office holders to limit the number of vehicles in their convoys as a display of empathy to the Nigerian people during these trying times in a lecture.

He emphasised that agencies like the Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) and the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) should not be part of President Bola Tinubu’s and Vice President Kashim Shettima’s entourage as long as the police presence is appropriate.

“There is a need for our leaders to reduce the number of vehicles in their convoy so that Nigerians know you understand their plight,” Ogundipe added.

“There is nothing VIO, FRSC are doing in the President and Vice President’s entourage once you have police in the convoy.”
