On Sunday, Minister of Works Dave Umahi expressed strong confidence that President Bola Tinubu would secure a second term as Nigeria’s leader, attributing his re-election to divine intervention.
At a stakeholders meeting about the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway Phase 1 held at Eko Hotel in Lagos, Umahi highlighted that Tinubu should be re-elected by the “power of God” in the 2027 elections.
Umahi remarked, “The person who has the bravery to realize a vision imagined 45 years ago is also the one with the courage needed to complete it.”
I believe we should vote for him in 2027, as it is God’s will that he be re-elected. If you agree, please show your support by saying “hi.”
The minister underscored Tinubu’s accomplishments, especially in the South-East, since taking office in 2023. He stated that the region would strongly support the President in the forthcoming election.
Umahi, who completed two terms as the governor of Ebonyi State, highlighted that federal projects are being carried out not just in the South-East but throughout the entire country. This demonstrates the administration’s dedication to national development.
He anticipated strong backing for Tinubu in the region, claiming that the South-East would secure 99 percent of the votes in the 2027 election.
We have no reason to halt the work; instead, we are committed to doing what’s right. This approach isn’t unique to this job—it’s how we’re handling all our projects.
We have several projects underway, including the routes from Enugu to Abakaliki and from Afikpo through Abia to Okigwe. Additionally, we are working on one of Mr. President’s legacy initiatives as part of our commitment to support his efforts rather than undermine them.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to receive 99 percent of the South-East votes due to his positive relations with the region. “They will shift from supporting the South-West and give us 99.99% in 2027,” he added.
Umahi’s remarks highlight the evolving political landscape as we approach the 2027 elections, with Tinubu’s administration consistently advancing infrastructure projects nationwide.
