President Bola Tinubu is currently welcoming the recently inaugurated president of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, at the State House in Abuja.
The purpose of the meeting, as gathered, is a formal visit by President Faye to President Tinubu, who is also a member of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Authority of Heads of State and Government.
President Faye, who officially took office on April 2, 2024, arrived at the State House forecourt around 3 pm, where he was greeted by the military band’s pipers and then escorted inside the building.
Following his arrival, the Senegalese President was promptly led to a private meeting with the Nigerian leader in his office for discussions behind closed doors.
More details about the meeting are expected to be revealed shortly.
