President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended a warm welcome to India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, during his inaugural official visit to Nigeria.
Tinubu announced this in a statement posted on his official X account on Sunday.
He stated that the discussions during the visit aim to explore strategic and corporate relations between Nigeria and India.
We are eager to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his inaugural visit to Nigeria, marking the first time an Indian Prime Minister has visited our country since 2007.
He wrote, “Welcome to Nigeria, PM Modi. Our discussions will aim to strengthen the strategic partnership between our two countries and boost collaboration in key sectors.”
Reports indicate that Modi reached Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, early on Sunday morning.
Earlier, presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga had announced that Tinubu would host Modi on Sunday.
