President Bola Tinubu would keep his campaign pledges, Nyesom Wike has promised Nigerians, adding that he understands their suffering.

This was said by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Monday at the beginning of the road reconstruction project in the Garki neighbourhood of Abuja.

‘Let The Poor Breathe’ Remark by Tinubu More Important Than We Think, Says Tax Committee Chair

“I’m here with the minister of state for the FCT to reassure you that his [Tinubu’s] Renewed Hope agenda is effective, and to let you know that the FCT is functioning. Mr. President’s agenda includes both speaking and acting. And because of that, we have decided to begin by blocking off several highways in this region, Wike said to the crowd.

Phase one is barely beginning. We go on to phase two in the next weeks. Infrastructure for roads is the topic here. The President has made a lot of promises. They are being taken one by one.

The former governor of Rivers State continued, “I have told you here that if anything was not going to work, I would not be a party; however, because I know Mr. President means well for this country and wants the best for the country, that is why I said I would serve in his cabinet because he has demonstrated to Nigerians that he understands their suffering.

Wike, who bemoaned the state of the city’s infrastructure and other issues, told Abuja residents that his administration was committed to providing the FCT with a better deal.

“FCT from earlier is not the same FCT from today. He pleaded with the locals to support the administration and exercise patience as the road construction got underway, saying, “We will transform everything.

“It Won’t Work”
But he has a word of caution for the project’s contractors.

Nothing beats variety. It won’t function. A position of N1 would change to N15 within the next week. It wouldn’t function. Don’t even attempt it, he adamantly urged.

“This work doesn’t have any variation. We have enough cash on hand to pay you. You are welcome to visit engineering services and work with them however you wish. It won’t function.

“We are giving you your money, and I guarantee that you won’t owe anyone a cent. You will be paid, but you must complete the task by the deadline we have set together.
