Tinubu takes action, suspends Halima Shehu as NSIPA National Coordinator

Ms Halima Shehu, the National Coordinator and CEO of the National Social Investment Program Agency, has been suspended and is currently under investigation for alleged financial malfeasance.

President Bola Tinubu has approved this immediate action. In light of these circumstances, Dr Akindele Egbuwalo, the National N-POWER Program Manager, has been appointed as the acting NC/CEO until the investigation is concluded. It is worth noting that Ms Halima Shehu’s appointment was confirmed by the Senate approximately three months ago.

Prior to her current role, she served as the National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme and had previous experience with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development from 2017 to 2022.
