President Tinubu signs a new bill adjusting salaries and allowances for judicial office holders in Nigeria.

On Tuesday, August 13th, a statement was released in Abuja by Senator Basheer Lado who serves as the president’s special adviser on senate matters. In the statement, he disclosed this information.

According to Lado, the impressive action highlights the President’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing the well-being of Nigerian workers as demonstrated by his decision to postpone a Federal Executive Council meeting in order to approve the new National Minimum Wage Bill set at N70,000.

The modifying of the Certain Political, Public and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.), Act No. 6 of 2002 entails changing the compensation packages for judicial officers in accordance with current circumstances. Consequently, there is a need to remove provisions that pertain solely to holders of Judicial Offices from this amended act.

He states that notable traits of the Act consist of setting out salaries, allowances and additional benefits for Judicial Officers.

Lado praised the patriotic dedication of Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abass Tajudeen, towards continually enhancing the well-being of Nigerians.

He commended the 10th National Assembly members for their consideration of Nigerians’ well-being by passing and forwarding the executive Bill, which has been speedily ratified by the President.
