The groundbreaking ceremony for various projects at the National Fire Academy is set to take place on May 28, with President Bola Tinubu officiating as part of the one-year anniversary celebrations of the current administration.

Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced this after inspecting ongoing projects at the academy, which serves as the training arm of the Federal Fire Service (FFS).

The new projects aim to transform the academy into a world-class facility, reducing the need for foreign training and offering training to personnel from other countries.

Among the projects to be launched are a Clinic, Worship Centers, Props Center, Sports Arena, Lecture Halls, and Hostels.

The goal is to establish the best fire academy in West Africa, emphasizing the importance of the Fire Service in securing lives and property, not only in combating fires but also in rescue operations during emergencies.

Plans include expanding training capabilities locally and internationally, positioning the academy as a source of national pride for Nigeria.
