At the changing of the Presidential Villa’s guard on Sunday in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu served as the Special Guest of Honour.

The celebration’s theme was “Nigeria @ 63, Renewed Hope for Unity and Prosperity,” and it was a part of the country’s 63rd anniversary of independence.

Other administrators were led by Tinubu in an evaluation of the event’s numerous activities.

The events featured the Submission of Parade, the Independence Day Parade, and the Guards Brigade Silent Drill.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas reportedly attended the ceremony.

The ceremony also featured appearances by the Chief Justice of the Federation, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Ministers, the Head of the Civil Service, Permanent Secretaries, and members of the Diplomatic Corps.

Other events at the celebration, according to NAN, included cutting an anniversary cake, signing an anniversary register, and releasing anniversary pigeons.

In a previous speech to the country, the president laid out the significant measures the new government has implemented to improve the economic and social circumstances of Nigerians.

The wellbeing of the workforce, the use of CNG vehicles to reduce the cost of transportation, and fiscal policies to entice enterprises and create jobs for the thronging youth population were all points Tinubu emphasised.

Nigeria is distinctive in its origin and core characteristics, he remarked. We are a diverse and vibrant fusion of ethnicities, faiths, customs, and civilizations.

“However, our ties are unseen yet enduring, intangible yet strong. We are brought together by our shared desire for peace and growth, our shared vision of prosperity and harmony, and the unifying ideals of tolerance and fairness.

It has been a task of great blessing but also a continuous challenge to forge a nation based on the equitable application of these lofty values to a varied population.

Some have argued that Nigerian independence should never have been granted. Our nation would be split apart, according to some. They will always be wrong. Our country is standing here, and we will stay here.

In order to forward the numerous projects for a better Nigeria, the president urged all Nigerians to unite behind the government.

I am aware of the challenges that have arisen, Tinubu stated. I have eyes that see and a feeling heart. I want to tell you why we have to put up with this tough time.

Though hard, reform is necessary for greatness and the future. We now bear the burden of working towards a future Nigeria where the nation’s bounty and fruits are properly shared among all, rather than being hoarded by a select group of avaricious individuals.

There is no delight in watching the citizens of this country bear burdens that ought to have been borne years ago. I wish there were no problems like there are now. To get to the bright side of our future, though, we must persevere.

“Dear brothers and sisters, fear or hatred will not guide us on this road. The only way we can build a better Nigeria is by being a brave, compassionate, and dedicated team.(NAN)
