In his National Broadcast commemorating Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary, President Bola Tinubu revealed that Nigerian security forces have successfully neutralized more than 300 Boko Haram commanders over the past year.

This accomplishment forms a crucial element of the larger initiative to fight terrorism and banditry nationwide.

Besides targeting Boko Haram, security forces have also dismantled numerous commanders from various bandit groups, especially in the North-West and North-East regions.

The President’s update underscores the steadfast dedication of Nigerian security forces to restoring peace and stability in regions plagued by violence and unrest.

I am pleased to inform you, my fellow citizens, that our administration is successfully winning the fight against terror and banditry.

“Our goal is to eradicate all threats posed by Boko Haram, banditry, ransom kidnappings, and any form of violent extremism.”

“In just one year, our government has swiftly eradicated Boko Haram and bandit leaders at an unprecedented rate.”

“As of the latest count, our courageous troops have eliminated over 300 Boko Haram and bandit commanders in the Northeast, Northwest, and various other regions of the country.”

“We have restored peace to hundreds of communities in the North, allowing thousands of our people to return home.”

“This matter remains unresolved, and our security agencies are dedicated to concluding it as swiftly as possible.”

“Once peace is restored in many troubled northern communities, our farmers will be able to return to their fields.”

“We anticipate a significant increase in food production and a substantial decrease in food costs. I assure you, we will not waver on this commitment,” he said.
