In his National Broadcast commemorating Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary, President Bola Tinubu revealed that Nigerian security forces have successfully neutralized more than 300 Boko Haram commanders over the past year.
This accomplishment forms a crucial element of the larger initiative to fight terrorism and banditry nationwide.
Besides targeting Boko Haram, security forces have also dismantled numerous commanders from various bandit groups, especially in the North-West and North-East regions.
The President’s update underscores the steadfast dedication of Nigerian security forces to restoring peace and stability in regions plagued by violence and unrest.
I am pleased to inform you, my fellow citizens, that our administration is successfully winning the fight against terror and banditry.
“Our goal is to eradicate all threats posed by Boko Haram, banditry, ransom kidnappings, and any form of violent extremism.”
