Tinubu Returns to Nigeria Following South African Trip
President Bola Tinubu arrives back in Nigeria after his South African trip, where he participated in strategic discussions to strengthen bilateral relations and economic cooperation.
President Bola Tinubu returned to the country after traveling to Cape Town, South Africa, where he co-chaired the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission with President Cyril Ramaphosa.
President Tinubu landed at 9:10 PM at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
Attending to welcome the president were Nyesom Wike, the Minister of FCT; Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President; and Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser.
Others include Abdullahi Ganduje, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Peter Opara, the Commissioner of Police for FCT.
During the 11th session of the BNC, discussions were conducted across eight working groups, each concentrating on a particular area of mutual interest.
These encompassed political consultations, consular and migration affairs, banking and finance matters, defense and security issues, manufacturing processes, social sector development, mines and energy resources management, as well as trade and investment activities.
During the high-level meeting, representatives from both countries signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding and agreements.
The Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission was founded in 1999 to enhance the bonds of friendship and collaboration between the two countries.
