The National Patriotic Elders Forum has advised President Bola Tinubu to ensure that Nigeria’s crude oil is sold to the Dangote Refinery in Naira as it commences production.
This move, according to Dr. Bature AbdulAziz, the National President of the Forum, would not only enhance the value of the Naira but also make the company’s petroleum products more affordable for Nigerians.
AbdulAziz commended President Tinubu for his efforts in ensuring the refinery’s production and emphasized that the sale of the refined products would contribute to the stability of the oil and gas market in Nigeria.
He further emphasized the need for a strong collaboration between the government and Dangote Refinery to reduce the prices of petroleum products once the refinery is fully operational.
AbdulAziz expressed his belief that this would redirect the foreign currency spent on importing refined petroleum products to other sectors that would improve the living standards of Nigerians.
Additionally, he urged President Tinubu to prioritize agriculture to enhance food security and address the issue of insecurity, particularly in rural areas.
AbdulAziz acknowledged the President’s efforts in tackling insecurity but emphasized the need for further strategies and intelligence networking to safeguard the lives and property of Nigerians.
