Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, promised on Tuesday in Kano to preserve Nigeria’s inland waterways.
In addition to promising to reinvigorate the manufacturing sector in Kano State, Tinubu made a meeting with Muslim clerics in Kano.
The APC presidential candidate criticised Kano’s decline as a manufacturing centre and promised to implement measures to restore it if he were to win next month’s presidential election.
“It should be unacceptable to all of us that Kano is no longer a centre for manufacturing. My policies won’t just give it a second chance. It will grow past what it was and become what it ought to be, according to Tinubu.
The former governor of Lagos State added that if given the people of Nigeria’s vote, he will use his love and respect for Kano, the North-West, and Nigeria in general to advance the nation.
The Jagaban of Borgu spoke on the country’s economy, saying: “My goal is to make this economy more robust and broad so that people who wish to work can find rewarding employment.

By dredging the River Niger, he promised to “revive our inland waterways” and “ensure we reduce our steel import cost by making the Ajaokuta Steel Company functional.”
Additionally, the APC presidential candidate said: “With regard to agriculture, we would promote food security through greater farm incomes and increased productivity. The importance of farming will be adequately restored.
Massive investment in education “will ensure that we nourish and steer our youth toward better lifestyles in order to strengthen our social fabric and secure the future,” Tinubu continued.
