Prior to his inauguration in May 2023, President Bola Tinubu fought spiritual forces, according to former Osun State governor Bisi Akande.

Speaking on Thursday at a one-day seminar hosted by an Arewa think tank in Kaduna, he revealed this.

It was not unexpected, according to the former acting chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), that the opposition sought to keep Tinubu from winning the election.

“It was not surprising that the opposition created tension and threats in the country in an attempt to prevent Tinubu from winning the presidential election,” the speaker stated.

“There was a lot of talk leading up to the most recent elections about Bola Ahmed Tinubu not being the APC nominee, but he was.

“He won the presidential election, despite the religious clergy of one belief and the other being up in arms about him losing!”

He went on, “After that, he took over as president of Nigeria due to political manoeuvring and supernatural threats that he wouldn’t be sworn in.

The conflict then turned to the legal sword-crossing over whether or not he should be ousted from office, but the president’s position was maintained.

“There were predictions that he wouldn’t be able to handle the office due to his health, but he miraculously recovered.”

He went on to say that despite alterations from various sources, Nigeria has been growing stronger and that President Tinubu’s first anniversary was observed in style.
