President Tinubu has ordered the creation of a Disaster Relief Fund in light of the floods in Maiduguri, focusing on recovery and support for impacted residents.
President Bola Tinubu oversaw the establishment of the Disaster Relief Fund following the Federal Executive Council, or FEC, meeting on Monday.
Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, revealed the information to the media during a briefing.

He stated that specific funding is required to address the growing needs and difficulties related to the phenomena, as climate change is projected to make disasters like the flooding in Maiduguri more frequent.

According to Edun, the Federal Government will exert every effort to get financial support for the Disaster Relief Fund from important stakeholders.
