Adeyemi Smart, a former member for Kogi West in the ninth Senate, stated on Wednesday that President Bola Tinubu would remove any minister who didn’t perform well after six months.
The Kogi State governor candidate described Tinubu as someone who will ask ministries to report to Nigerians in an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
“What Nigerians should know about President Bola Tinubu today, including those who are ministers, is that from his track record, once you don’t perform in six months, he shows you the way out,” he said.
That is what he intends to do. The man (Tinubu) is eager to change things. Asiwaju aspires to become well-known. He wants to change Nigeria’s position. He wants to win back territory that the country has lost.
“He’s telling us that he understands the suffering we’re going through. He has a proven track record of success. I congratulate those who have been nominated or appointed, but if you don’t deliver, this man will show them (the exit). It doesn’t matter if you leave them for four or eight years. Asiwaju doesn’t have a track record like that.
Adeyemi also commented on the drama that occurred on Tuesday between the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and the Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume.
Ndume (APC Borno South) brought attention to the way Akpabio preside over senate business at plenary on Tuesday by citing order 54 of the standing rules. After being ruled to be out of order, he subsequently departed the room.

Regarding the alleged impeachment plot against Akpabio, Adeyemi characterised the Senate President as a nice guy. He clarified that the 10th Assembly is still young and that its members are still getting used to it.
There is no need to be concerned because a new assembly like this will begin on a positive note. Everyone will eventually come to understand one another, Adeyemi continued.
