Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the incoming president of Nigeria, is currently in Daura, Katsina State, where he is having a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
On Wednesday evening, Tinubu took a flight from Abuja to Lagos, arriving shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission gave him a Certificate of Return (INEC).
Our reporter learned that the urge to honour the departing President for the support he received throughout the campaign likely motivated the president to meet with him.
Recall that President Buhari openly presented his voting papers while casting his vote on Saturday at polling unit 003, Sarkin Yara Ward A, Daura Local Government Area, demonstrating that he did not betray his party member and presidential flagbearer, Bola Tinubu.

The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Abdullahi Adamu, as well as the Governors of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-rufai, Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, Ebonyi, Dave Umahi, Zamfara, and Bello Muhammad, among others, accompanied Tinubu on the trip to Daura to meet with the President.
After defeating Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Tinubu was proclaimed the winner of the election for president early on Wednesday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
