Tinubu is taking Nigerians down a path that leads to their grave – Lamido
After deciding to carry on with the policies and initiatives of former President Muhammadu Buhari, President Bola Tinubu’s administration is probably going to take a lot of Nigerians to their graves.
Sule Lamido, a former governor of Jigawa State, said as much in a Daily Trust interview.
Lamido bemoaned the degree of suffering in the nation and the purported corruption in the judiciary since 2015. He claimed that Nigerians are suffering as a result of their decision to reject the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and support the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“How was Nigeria in terms of internal harmony, internal reconciliation between the North and South, you know after June 12?,” he asked in 1998, before we joined the team.
The link that unites us as a nation was present, yet it was absent. So, Nigeria was restored by the PDP, which arrived in 1999. From 1999 to 2007, Nigeria initially achieved internal peace before improving its reputation abroad and becoming a formidable nation. I served as the Foreign Affairs Minister under Obasanjo.
You don’t seem to remember what we accomplished. According to a Hausa proverb, even though your stomach was full yesterday, it will still be yelling, “I want more food,” tomorrow, forgetting that you fed it yesterday.
What Nigeria was like in 1992–1998 and observe our actions from 1998–2014. But who just chose to ignore all of that? by people who are ignorant of the existence of Nigeria. They united behind Buhari, referring to him as “our own.”
What advantage does “our own” being in power for the North, particularly for his own district in the North West?..
The journey began with a caravan load of poverty, hunger, insecurity, hatred, despair, frustration, anguish, and suffering, and the goal is the tomb. Now, eight years later, Tinubu arrived and declared he would carry on from where Buhari left off.
Lamido also voiced concern over the judiciary’s needless meddling in the country’s political system.
When they attempt to win an election and are unsuccessful, they will say, “Okay, go to the tribunal. By the time you get there, they’ve already beaten you to it, isn’t that right?
You can see that this is all about the judiciary if the entire CJN of Nigeria attends the party hosted by the G-5 governors and makes sure to vote for them.
“It seems like they (G-5) were fighting for the APC and against the PDP candidate. At the event, they openly declared their opposition to the PDP and later the CJN.
Thus, it appears that they are attempting to instill in us the idea that there is a competition and that the loser must appear in court. However, because they are already present in the CJN, why should we be surprised?
