President Bola Tinubu is totally devoted to the fight against corruption in the nation, according to Musa Aliyu, the chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday in Abuja, Aliyu claimed that recent changes in the country’s political landscape demonstrated Tinubu’s dedication to the battle against corruption.
Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the minister of interior, was called before the president due to his purported affiliation with a business that benefited from a contract that Edu had awarded, while Tinubu had recently suspended Betta Edu, the minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation, over charges of fraud, according to Obasanjo News24.
“Mr. President, you know what is going on. I mean business. The President has repeatedly told the public that he is prepared to combat corruption in the nation and that, as I have stated, you have witnessed what is occurring. The appointing authority has already issued a message that is available to the public.
In addition to pledging to conduct himself honourably in the course of his work as ICPC chairman, Aliyu announced that he would be attending court appearances in relation to certain cases the anti-graft body was pursuing.
“During prosecutions, I will be appearing in court as the Chairman of the ICPC.” I will be in court if there is a case that I feel needs to be heard.
“As the Chairman of the ICPC, this is one of the things I will do differently,” he declared.
Aliyu stated that the ICPC would not be able to operate effectively without technology, indicating his willingness to heavily utilise information and communication technology (ICT) in the Commission’s operations.
In addition, the head of the ICPC promised to strengthen cooperation with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other law enforcement organisations in order to eradicate corruption in the nation.
Aliyu called on Nigerians, especially the youth, to join the battle against corruption, but he disagreed with the demand made by some quarters for special tribunals to hear cases involving corruption.
According to Obasanjo News24, Tinubu appointed Aliyu, a former Jigawa State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, as the new ICPC chairman on October 17, 2023.
