The Presidency defends Tinubu, describing him as a reformer with deliberate leadership goals, countering Bishop Kukah’s recent remarks about his rise to power.

Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, has stated that his principal is not an accidental president.

Onanuga responded to a statement made by the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Kukah, suggesting that Tinubu was unprepared for leadership and presidency.

On Sunday, Kukah expressed that Tinubu, along with his predecessor Muhammadu Buhari and other previous Nigerian leaders, emerged from an “accidental leadership cycle.”

Kukah also mentioned that numerous leaders assumed power without sufficient preparation.

In response, Onanuga dismissed Kukah’s position, emphasizing that Tinubu is a reformer making every effort in his role as president.

In a signed statement, Onanuga expressed that Tinubu is not an accidental leader and is making every effort to bring about positive change in the country.

Does he resemble one in any way? What I’m trying to convey is that this man isn’t an accidental leader; he was prepared for the role. He even mentioned himself that he’s been preparing for it and is striving to elevate the country beyond its current state. He’s giving it his all.

Thanks to his preparation for office, he is implementing numerous reforms. He is addressing every area and striving to ensure the country experiences a significant transformation.

Those who claim that the President is an accidental leader suggest that’s why he faces challenges.

Tinubu has demonstrated that he is a reformer, and reforms require time rather than quick fixes. Transforming things takes patience, and he’s actively working on it.
