Following the Supreme Court’s certification of his election in the 2023 All Progressives Congress presidential election, President Bola Tinubu has assured his aides that their positions are safe.

The aides, which included Lt. Col. Nurudeen Yusuf, Aide de Camp (ADC), Victor Adeleke, the State Chief of Protocol (SCOPE), and his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, along with other security and civilian appointees, had gathered in his office at the presidential villa in Abuja on Thursday immediately following the court’s announcement to congratulate him on his victory.

The ADC, speaking on their behalf, congratulated President Tinubu on his confirmation by the Supreme Court as a five-star General and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. President Tinubu, who had received them with joy, first informed Ngelale and Adeleke that their jobs were secure.

The president was then given a brief moment of prayer in celebration of his triumph.

Earlier attendees at the presidential house to celebrate President Tinubu’s victory as affirmed by the Supreme Court included state governors.

They are Yahaya Bello (Kogi), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Abdulrahman Abdulrazak (Kwara), Duoye Diri (Bayelsa), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Abdulahi Sule (Nasarawa), and Rev. Fr. Hycinth Alia (Benue).

Given that the president is running for governor of Bayelsa state on November 11 and is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), it was unclear if Diri was in the villa to congratulate him.

The governor and others, however, celebrated the president’s win together. Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), told the president that Diri would have visited him sooner but was preoccupied with his campaign for governor, which Tinubu admitted.

Fr. Alia told reporters that the president will be able to concentrate on business now that he has won the case before the Supreme Court.

“It is pretty exciting because we will move ahead now,” he remarked. I’m aware that our president has big ambitions for the country, especially for my state, and I don’t want us to miss them.

His win is significant not only for the country but also for those of us who disagree with the projected course of growth and development. We have all won a bigger battle with this. The individuals in the judiciary are those who handle books with great care.

“That our president is in office today is a blessing for Nigeria.” Please allow us to work together to help him lead our country to greater heights; in addition to having the potential, he has already begun to demonstrate the qualities that will lead to our further development.

Tinubu’s win, according to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is historic and a beautiful example of the strength that comes from inclusivity.

“The highest judicial body in our nation has expressed itself very clearly,” he continued. There were seven voices that agreed with each other; there were none that disagreed. That indicates that, despite any disagreements, we should go on since everyone has won.

Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas stated in his speech that they were all aware that Tinubu would win.

He said, “To God be the glory,” when asked. It is hardly a surprising development. It’s what we’ve been looking forward to. We have no choice but to express our gratitude to God for Nigeria despite the fact that we know what was said today is eventually what will be spoken.

“We are grateful to God for all the decent people in Nigeria who prayed for this historic victory on this specific day.

“I believe that after this announcement, we have no choice but to resume business as usual, reset our goals, and see what we can accomplish for the Nigerian people over the next three and a half to four years.”

The speaker said, “They should take heart,” and urged the opposition to work with the administration to advance the nation. At any one moment, there is only one winner. This is Asiwaju’s moment. Everyone should have faith in him and come work together to elevate Nigeria.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation also spoke. According to George Akume, the triumph validated the mandate he received from the Nigerian people.

“The Supreme Court, the highest court, made it abundantly evident that the mandate was granted freely,” he continued. In this nation, that is what we desire.

“We don’t want diversion; we want stability.” The president is doing a fantastic job and truly cares about the interests of the people. Although the decisions he is making now are difficult, they will ultimately result in a brighter day in the future. Nigerians are celebrating, therefore we are quite satisfied with what transpired today.
