President Bola Ahmed Tinubu acknowledges criticism but expresses his resolve and understanding of the sacrifices needed to build Nigeria into a prosperous nation.

President Bola Tinubu states that while people might insult him, he understands what is necessary to govern and develop the country.

The president delivered this statement in Enugu on Saturday during a meeting with stakeholders from the southeast geopolitical zone.

Reports indicate that the president visited Enugu to inaugurate projects launched by State Governor Peter Mbah.

The commissioned projects comprise 30 environmentally friendly smart schools, the completion of 60 type 2 primary health centers, and roads spanning from the Airport to New Haven–Bisalla and Okpara Square over a distance of 19 kilometers.

During the meeting, the president informed stakeholders from the south-east that eliminating the petrol subsidy was essential for nation-building and safeguarding future generations’ interests.

Tinubu acknowledged the challenging nature of his work prior to running in the 2023 elections.

“You are all part of one large family known as Nigeria, though you occupy different rooms within the same house.”

“We must construct this house to meet not only our immediate needs but also those of tomorrow. This is why the removal of the initial subsidy was essential.”

“It is essential not to exhaust the resources of future generations before they even have a chance to exist. Avoid burdening our nation’s successors with debt.”

I understand that people may oppose, criticize, and challenge me in every way. However, I pursued this position knowing what it entails. I have confidence in myself and my ability to assemble an exceptional team to help build a nation.

“This is our country, and we must put in the effort to create a nation we can all be proud of. Let’s shift away from negative comments about Nigeria.”
