At the time this report was filed, the meeting’s agenda was unknown.
The conference is being held in response to Betta Edu’s suspension from her position as minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation due to an instruction to transfer monies into a private account.
Edu was a former woman leader of the ruling party.
The Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), the APC’s governors, declared on Thursday that Edu’s charges “are just allegations.”
Nigerians shouldn’t draw conclusions from the accusations made against the suspended minister, according to PGF head Hope Uzodinma.
Following a PGF meeting, he had declared, “The case against Edu is just an allegation. The functions of government include encouraging good things and good appointees, and discouraging bad things and bad appointees.”
The government will make a final decision only after the investigation is finished and the report is made available to it, according to the president’s wisdom.
The governor of Imo continued, saying that the PGF is committed to improving Nigerians’ welfare and ensuring national security.
