The governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has disclosed that Bola Tinubu, the incoming president of Nigeria, has formed committees to make peace with his rivals who came in second to him in the election last Saturday.
With 8,794,726 votes, Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress defeated Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party, who received 6,984,520 votes and finished in second place.
While Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party finished fourth with 1,496,687 votes, Peter Obi of the Labour Party came in third with 6,101,533 votes.
The governor of Ondo, however, claimed that Tinubu had formed committees to speak with his fellow candidates in an announcement made by his chief press secretary, Richard Olatunde, in Akure.
According to Akeredolu, the committees comprise elders of their party, APC, who “would shortly begin to meet with co-contestants of the President-elect in an effort to alleviate their loss in the just ended Presidential Election”.
He stated that “reconciliation will be met” with all of the resentful parties.

Both the PDP and the Labour Party have already made separate commitments to reclaim the mandates that they claim were stolen from them, with the latter promising to pursue retribution in court.
“The President-elect has established committees to meet with the guys that ran in the election for us to start the healing process,” Akeredolu stated. I am a member of one of the committees. We are going to meet with them and make a case for cooperation.
The results of this election were not rigged. According to how I understand it, those who cast ballots were counted; there aren’t millions of votes in this election.
“You can see the candidates; they each won 12 states; this has never happened before.”
Tinubu offered his opponents’ supporters a hand of friendship in the speech he gave shortly after being named the victor of the presidential election.
He remarked, “Whether you are Batified, Atikulated, Obidient, Kwankwasiyya, or have any other party allegiance, you voted for a better, more hopeful nation and I thank you for your participation and dedication to our democracy.
At his speech on Wednesday afternoon, Tinubu also mentioned that he had received his certificate of return from INEC. He added, “I know many did not vote for me and you are sad that your candidate is not where I stand now. I can feel your pain. I send a family’s love and consolation in response to your rage and disappointment.
“This magnificent project, fellow Nigerians, is more significant and significant than any partisan differences. I plead with you, my supporters, to keep pursuing our stated mission. To those who choose not to support me, I kindly beg that you not let the disappointment of the present moment prevent you from realising the great national development that can be achieved through cooperation.
