One Nation Asiwaju/Shettima Support organisation, a political pressure organisation, has encouraged President Bola Tinubu to reconstruct the country’s economic and sociopolitical institutions.
Tinubu was also recommended by the group to establish effective governance and economically empower the middle class.
The group’s Director-General, Alhaji Muhammadu Dagaci, provided the suggestion on Saturday during a Victory Celebration and Contributory Agenda Setting for the Tinubu administration in Abuja.
Dagaci stated that the difficulties confronting the country necessitated the rapid reconstruction of Nigeria’s economic and socio-political institutions through effective governance.
According to him, it also necessitates the encouragement and economic empowerment of the middle class, as well as respect for the constitution and the rule of law, as well as adequate education of citizens in the spirit of the constitution.
“Mr President, you are the destined new captain and man of the moment to lead Nigeria and Nigerians to the desired long hopeful safe destination.”
“In this regard, anyone or group of individuals, or even institutions, who conspired to bring our dear country to its current pathetic state should be identified and punished accordingly.”
“Your Excellency, this would only be possible if you are guided by the facts that elections are over and gone with the dirty politics of religion and ethnicity,” the director-general stated.
He encouraged the president to ensure correct procedure and orderliness in the governance procedures in order to combat corruption.
According to him, this has gradually eroded the rule of law and circumvented popular will, making our national growth and advancement impossible.
Dagaci stated that Tinubu’s campaign against corruption must be inclusive and not selective if it is to be meaningful.
Dr Kailani Muhammed, Director-General of the Confederation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Group, also encouraged the president to include members of APC support groups in the next round of ministerial nominations.
Muhammed, who was represented by the group’s Director of Special Duties, Mr Suleiman Zailani, stated that APC support groups deserved to be recognised for their contributions to the party’s success at the polls.
“What I’m saying is that the president should not focus solely on governors for ministerial appointments because support groups have contributed far more in most cases than some state governors.”
“At the very least, it would be fair if a certain percentage of ministerial nominees were given the support groups for a job well done,” he said. (NAN)
