President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Bassirou Diomaye Faye on his recent election as the president of the Republic of Senegal.
The message of congratulations was conveyed through a statement released by his special adviser on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Wednesday, March 27.
In his statement, President Tinubu expressed his belief in President-elect Faye’s potential and outstanding track record, wishing him success as he embarks on the crucial responsibility of leading the citizens of Senegal.
Furthermore, President Tinubu also commended His Excellency, President Macky Sall, for overseeing an election that has been widely recognized for its peaceful and transparent nature.
President Tinubu emphasized that the successful presidential election in Senegal, along with the smooth general election in Liberia a few months prior, reinforces his conviction that democracy is deeply rooted in West Africa and will continue to flourish with good governance, justice, and fairness.
As the chairman of ECOWAS, President Tinubu highlighted that the successful conduct of the Senegal election is a significant step towards promoting peace, upholding constitutional order, and fostering stronger relationships among member states within the sub-regional organization.
President Tinubu concluded his message by extending his congratulations to the people of Senegal and assuring them of Nigeria’s unwavering support and best wishes for the future.
