President Bola Tinubu has challenged the Super Falcons to remain worthy ambassadors of Nigeria in their bid to win the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Super Falcons are in Australia and New Zealand for the 2023 World Cup, where they will face Australia in their second group encounter.

Tinubu urged the players to put forth their best efforts, like they did in the first encounter against Canada, in a statement issued by Mr Dele Alake, Special Duties, Communications and Strategy.

‘’I am really proud of the Super Falcons’ outstanding achievement in their first match against Canada, a strong opponent and reigning Olympic champion.

”I am confident that the upcoming match on Thursday would be an exciting encounter that ends in triumph for the Nigerian squad,” he said.

Tinubu lauded the Super Falcons’ outstanding achievements as a dominant force in African women’s football.

The President expressed optimism that the combination of new and experienced players would boost Nigeria’s achievements in women’s football to new heights in the tournament.

He guaranteed the players and coaching staff of all Nigerians’ passionate support, pushing the team to continue exemplifying Nigeria’s culture of dedication and excellence. (NAN)
