According to Atiku Bagudu, the minister of budget and economic planning, President Bola Tinubu has made preparations to increase the nation’s food and nutrition security.
During the 2023 Nigeria Nutrition Week, Media Sensitization on Food and Nutrition Security, Bagudu made this statement in Abuja on Thursday.

In the person of Dr. Sanjo Faniran, Director of Social Development, Bagudu declared that the Tinubu-led administration would pursue a multipronged strategy to ensure food security.
According to him, the strategy would provide social protection initiatives, climate-smart technology, and sustainable agricultural methods.
This acknowledges the pressing need for mitigation and adaptation plans to protect our food systems and improve the dietary security of our population.
“The Nigerian government is giving the development and implementation of climate-smart farming methods top priority as part of our promise at the recently ended COP28 in Dubai.
This will entail supporting agroforestry, effective irrigation systems, robust crop types, and sustainable land management practices.
“It is intended to strengthen the resilience of our farming systems and guarantee a consistent flow of nourishing food to a larger portion of our population,” he stated.
