President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to depart from Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, today and head to Lagos to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr.
This information was disclosed in a statement released yesterday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.
In light of the significance of Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, President Bola Tinubu will observe the occasion with prayers for Nigeria and spend time with his family.
Despite the holiday, the President will continue to fulfill his official duties both during and after the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, as stated in the official statement.
Meanwhile, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has taken measures to ensure a smooth and safe Eid-el-Fitr celebration. Regular and special marshals, patrol vehicles, ambulances, tow trucks, and bikes have been deployed across the 52 critical corridors in the country.

The FRSC Corps Marshal, Dauda Ali-Biu, announced these deployments during the official inauguration of the 2024 Sallah Mega Motor Park Rally in Abuja. The theme of the event was deemed appropriate and timely.
In addition to the physical presence of FRSC personnel, operational equipment such as Radar Guns and Breathalysers have been deployed to monitor and control drunk driving and speeding incidents.
The FRSC Corps Marshal, represented by the Deputy Corps Marshal (DCM) in charge of operations, Shehu Zaki, emphasized the importance of prompt response to reported crashes.
He directed all Zebras, a term used to refer to FRSC personnel, to be active and responsive 24/7, ensuring they adhere to the minimum FRSC response time.
Commanding Officers across the country have also been instructed to take necessary actions and maintain vigilance on other roads throughout Nigeria.
