Akin Osuntokun, the director-general of the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential campaign council, lost his local government on Saturday.
In Ekiti West, the All Progressive Congress, which is now in power, easily won the presidential election.
Bola Tinubu of the APC defeated Peter Obi of the LP, who finished in third place.
The APC won each of the LG’s 11 wards, according to results announced by the Independent National Election Commission, INEC, Local Government Collation Officer.
The party polled 14,516 votes, LP scored 391, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, secured 4,318 and New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP 10.
With its administrative centre at Aramoko, the Ekiti West Local Government Area also includes Erinijiyan, Okemesi, Isokowa, Egede, Orokuta, Osemo, and Kajola.
