After assuming office on May 29, 2023, President Bola Tinubu has instituted numerous reforms, leading him to argue that he should be listed in the Guinness Book of World Records.

According to Tinubu, his record as governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007 allowed him to take the state’s economy from zero to the fifth largest on the continent, thereby preparing him for the presidency.

At the 10th German-Nigerian Business Forum in Berlin, Germany, he made this announcement.

“Look at me; I come from the private sector and I’m one of you, trained by Deloitte,” he said, addressing those who are afraid of different challenges. At Exxon Mobil, I was the treasurer. Describe corporate governance in any manner, and I’ll be there.

“I presided over Lagos for a total of eight years.” With great pride, I can announce that Lagos State has grown from zero to become the fifth-largest economy in Africa. My qualifications for the presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria stem from this record.

Nigerians voted for me because I promised reforms, and I carried them out right away after taking office. In my opinion, if my name wasn’t included in the Guinness Book of Records, I would definitely try to find a method to be included because I did it voluntarily and made it clear in my inauguration speech,” Tinubu continued.

After two significant agreements between German and Nigerian companies were signed in Berlin on Tuesday, Tinubu made his comments.
