Tinubu Calls for Vigilance Against Regional and Global Threats

President Tinubu emphasizes the importance of vigilance in protecting Nigeria from regional and global threats, urging collective efforts to safeguard the nation’s security.

Instructing Course 32 of the National Defence College (NDC), President Bola Tinubu emphasized the importance of remaining alert and taking preventive measures towards tackling a wide range of regional and global dangers.

The call for action was made by Vice President Kashim Shettima, on behalf of Tibubu during the graduation ceremony of its participants in Abuja on Friday.

According to him, the college had provided adequate training on necessary knowledge and tactics for addressing current national security challenges, encouraging the participants to step up when needed.

As we move forward, it is important that we stay watchful and take proactive measures to tackle challenges on both regional and global levels.

It is imperative that we persist in advocating for democratic values and maintaining democratic principles within our nation, as well as throughout the continent.

“He said that as the current chair of ECOWAS, they will do everything necessary to enhance relationships and resolve existing disagreements within the community.”

The president praised the college for maintaining excellence, bravery, loyalty and honesty. He promised to provide ample assistance so that the institution can relocate to its permanent location at the earliest opportunity.

In addition, he recognized the outstanding commitment and service rendered by Nigeria’s military personnel in defending its territorial borders as well as ensuring the safety of its citizens’ lives and properties.

He promised that his administration would tackle all the current security, social and economic issues facing the nation.

My commitment remains steadfast to leverage all my constitutional authority in ensuring that the Nigerian military is adequately equipped and proficient.

We, as a government, acknowledge the challenges faced by our people and remain committed to proactively intervening in issues that may impact their well-being.

In recent times, considerable progress has been made towards tackling these challenges.

A new national minimum wage has been implemented that will provide benefits to not only civilian workers, but also members of the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies.

Our efforts to combat crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta are ongoing without rest.

He believes that this measure will result in amplified oil production, bringing us closer to our desired economic benchmarks.

Our pledge is to construct a supportive commercial atmosphere that inspires the augmentation of value in our mining industry.

He added that collaboration with global allies is underway to devise a plan aimed at utilizing the potential of this domain for safeguarding the nation.

A total of 111 participants, comprising Nigeria’s armed forces and friendly nations’ troops, were reported to have graduated from the college as stated by The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

In addition to strategic ministries, departments and agencies of government, participants were selected from the Nigeria Police Force and other security organizations.
