Tinubu asks APC members in Cross River to put down their weapons

Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, has urged the party’s disgruntled and troubled members in Cross River State, who lost the party’s primary, to drop all lawsuits and put an end to disputes among themselves.

He made the appeal today in Calabar when he called Jonas Eteng, the current speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, to the rostrum during a town hall meeting, along with John Owan-Enoh, the former senator for the Cross River Central Senatorial District, and Mary Eta, who also lost the ticket for the Central senatorial district to Eteng.

Prince Bassey Otu won the governorship election, and Owan-Enoh lost both the high court and the appeals court hearings on his behalf.

Mary Eta and I have been friends for a very long time. Tinubu addressed the sizable group of APC members and executives. And Senator John Owan-Enoh, while it is inevitable that you may experience disappointment given your human nature, kindly withdraw your lawsuits. Let’s collaborate. For the sake of our celebration, I want the two of you to put the animosity in its place and come back together.

Tinubu claimed that the only reason he is running for president in 2023 is to move Nigeria forward.

“I am a front-wheel driver, and my only motivation for running is to move Nigeria forward.” Division, rage, and disintegration won’t help Nigeria’s problems. We can only do this by assembling a team of thinkers and dreamers.

He praised Governor Ben Ayade for his efforts to industrialize the state and bring it to national attention. Additionally, he praised Senator Florence Ita Giwa (Mama Bakassi) for her humanitarian efforts.
