Tuesday saw President Bola Tinubu’s arrival in Paris, France, for a two-day meeting of the New Global Financial Pact.
After the jet landed at the airport at 6:47 p.m. local time, Tinubu was welcomed there by Ambassador Kayode Laro and other high government representatives from the Nigerian Embassy and French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Nigerian President traveled to the event scheduled for June 22 and 23 by way of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport earlier today.
Following the severe effects of climate change, the energy crisis, and the COVID-19 pandemic, the President will join world leaders in Paris to discuss and sign a New Global Financial Pact that prioritizes support for and investment in vulnerable nations.
Dele Alake, the President’s Special Adviser for Special Duties, Communication, and Strategy, said that Tinubu would look into ways to give nations facing challenging short-term financial issues, particularly the most indebted, access to fiscal space once more.
On Saturday, the President is anticipated to return, accompanied by members of the Presidential Policy Advisory Council and other government representatives.
