President Tinubu lands in France to engage in high-level diplomatic and economic talks aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s international partnerships.
President Bola Tinubu has touched down in Paris, France, for a three-day state visit.
Tinubu arrived at Paris’s Orly Airport on Wednesday at 5:10 pm local time. His trip to the city is in response to an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron.
The purpose of the visit is to strengthen political, economic, and cultural relationships between the two countries, emphasizing collaborations in agriculture, security, education, health care initiatives for young people innovation sectors as well as energy transition.
Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga announced that President Tinubu and his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, are scheduled to be hosted by President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron at the historic Les Invalides and Élysée Palace on Thursday. The occasion will feature formal ceremonies along with bilateral meetings.
The visit will include conversations aimed at improving exchange programs geared towards youth, with a focus on automation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership.
“The statement noted that both leaders are set to engage in political and diplomatic meetings emphasizing common values related to finance, solid minerals, trade and investments, as well as communication. Additionally, they will attend a session hosted by the France-Nigeria Business Council aimed at promoting private sector involvement in economic development.”
