For a period of six months, all federal employees who are paid by the treasury will get a provisional wage award of N35,000 from President Bola Tinubu.
This was disclosed in a statement released on Sunday in Abuja by Malam Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation.
This, he claimed, was the result of talks held at the Presidential Villa between the federal government and the union leaders.
The Federal Government also vowed at the meeting to expedite the delivery of compressed natural gas (CNG) buses to ease public transport caused by the elimination of PMS subsidy.
Additionally, the federal government promised to provide cash for micro and small businesses and to waive the VAT on diesel for the ensuing six months.
A payout of N75,000 to 15 million households at a rate of N25,000 per month for the three months of October through December was also announced.
