Tinubu Appoints Walson-Jack as New Head of Civil Service

Tinubu approves Walson-Jack to succeed Yemi-Esan as the new Head of Civil Service. Learn about the transition and its implications.

Yesterday, the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu gave consent to appoint Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack as the next Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF).

Replacing the outgoing Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan on August 14th, Mrs. Walson-Jack assumes her new role as of that date following the former’s retirement from service on August 13th.

Mrs. Walson-Jack, who was appointed as the Head of Civil Service by Ajuri Ngelale – the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity according to a released statement, has been characterized as an experienced public servant.

Mrs. Walson-Jack has served in different ministries since being appointed as a permanent secretary in 2017.

As per the declaration, President Tinubu has instructed the incoming HoCSF to introduce inventive concepts, exhibit integrity and demonstrate a resolute dedication towards complying with civil service laws and mandates.

Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, has been appointed as the Head of Civil Service for the Federation by President Bola Tinubu to commence on August 14th, 2024.

Having been appointed as the federal permanent secretary in 2017, Mrs. Walson-Jack has rendered her services to various ministries.

According to the statement, “On August 13th, 2024, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan CFR will retire and be succeeded by the new appointee as HoCSF.”

The President has conveyed appreciation to the departing Head of Service for her commitment and leadership.

President Tinubu expresses gratitude to the outgoing Head of Service for her service and urges the incoming Head of Service to perform her duties with creative ingenuity, honesty, and strict adherence to prevailing civil service regulations in Nigeria.
